What is Peak Oil?
I admit it! I am not enamored with politics and its lack of truth about the real issues affecting the United States, its policies, and the economy. I often wonder what has come over this old warrior – with my optimism at heart but cynicism in view. Reality is a hard taskmaster. True in martial arts – true in evolving points of view.
Bush knows. Barack knows. Hillary and McCain know. You are watching as the price of gas rises uncontrolled and the oil companies make record profits. Food prices are going through the roof. Some of you have heard the rumors [and they are not really just rumors] about population control camps being built around the United States. What about the wars that we are fighting in the Middle East and Pakistan? How about the private security companies that have been hired in great numbers, many on the federal payroll? There is no real war on terrorism. At least not the way it has been presented to the American public.
There is a war on “scarcity.” Before you listen to the political candidates’ arguments on health care reform, education, infrastructure repair, and the like (oh wait – did I mention alternative energy sources, fuel efficient cars, and corruption in government) – consider this. ASK THIS QUESTION: What is peak oil? ASK! Have we hit it? You can’t manufacture food, fertilizer, or electricity; you can’t have an Internet, job, modes of transportation or a home; and you can’t have (or make) alternative energy unless you have a facility operating on petroleum products.
Suppose that we are near lack of reserves world wide, and production levels are working at peak, and demand is growing by leaps and bounds every day - it will be impossible to meet those demands. That is what the term peak oil means. How long would it take, in an oil-driven economy, for life as we know it to disintegrate into something that we would not even recognize?
This is the story that is being kept from the public. It’s not being reported. This is our collision crash course future. This will be a world wide crisis!
